Description:

This presentation discusses the topics of occupational therapy and yoga separately, the similarities of both topics, and how OT and YOGA can be used together, specifically in the healthcare setting. Topics covered will include wholistic approaches to lifestyle and medicine, neurological diseases, respiratory issues, and overall quality of life from a yoga and OT standpoint. A 5-minute mindful movement session will be conducted at the end of the presentation.

Objectives:

Participants will be able to:

• Discuss the intersection of occupational therapy and  yoga from a healthcare perspective.
• Discuss the benefits of breathwork from a biological and mental standpoint.
• Discuss the usage of OT and Yoga with chronic stroke-related falls.
• Discuss yoga and self-care for the healthcare professional.
